Welcome, are you going to run it on 6S or 12S?

I'm using: Scorpion HKIII-4025-1100, 6S (4400 & 4500mah) Castle EDGE 120HV, Castle Super BEC(20 Amp)

Fly sports big sky. Around 5 minutes.

I'm liking that 4025 more and more as the motor of choice for this build. nice choice of esc too!

I use a KDE600XF-1100-G3 motor (https://www.kdedirect.com/collections/xf-single-rotor-brushless-motors/products/kde600xf-1100-g3) with a Kontronik Jive Pro 120+ HV ESC (https://www.helidirect.com/kontronik-jive-pro-120-hv-brushless-esc.html).  This motor/ESC combination works great on both 6S and 7S.  If I were to build another E5 and planned to run it as 6S (not 7S), I would strongly consider the Scorpion Tribunus 120A ESC (https://www.helidirect.com/scorpion-tribunus-06-120a-sbec-speed-controller-esc.html).

Welcome! I run mine in the 606 configuration with the KDE 600XF 1100kv with the Castle Edge 120HV & BEC PRO.. if u plan to run it as a 556 or a 600 on 6-8s.. this works fantastic! Many choices for set up with this bird in configuration & equipment.. it's a great bird! Enjoy ur build!

I'm liking the 6s setup, now just a toss up on the esc. I've not heard a single bad thing about this bird! Oh, need directions to where i can get the swash leveler or has anyone found one that'll work with it?

Any leveler for a 10mm shaft will do.. I have an Align, FBL Rotors, & a RD Lohr's swash leveler... even used the zip tie trick.. all work fine.

Also looking at the Scorpion Tribunis 06-120a esc and the 4020 1100kv motor.

The motor size recommended on the manual for the 550 size configuration is the Scorpion 4025-1100kv (http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalog/helicopter/motors_4/hkiii-40_1/HKIII_4025_1100/).  The smaller Scorpion 4020-1100kv (http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalog/helicopter/motors_4/hkiii-40_1/HKIII_4020_1100/) motor is rated for 90A peak current (5 seconds).  Depending on your flying style the smaller 4020-1100kv may work well, but understand that as you start pushing this helicopter swinging 556 blades on 6S, your peak current may be somewhere between 165A and 210A for brief periods.  The larger 4025-1100kv motor may be the more optimal option of these two motors.

Yea that 4020 was a typo on my part, I did mean 4025 1100 kv and as yet haven't found anything I like better. Going to go with Tesla servos, can get a good deal on them.
