Title: Missed the first batch
Post by: mivaldes on October 18, 2017, 06:49:38 PM
Well, I missed the first batch of 516s.  I thought I was good on the Amain preorder list, but I was #7 and they got 6!!

Thinking about going with an N5c.

Only Fine Helis got 18 kits in the first batch. I don’t know why A Main got so few.

Yep, they sold out too.  Methinks Matt has a winner here.

It satisfies a niche that has not been very well served IMO. The one exception was the DT520, but DT left a void when it got out of the model helicopter business. A few companies have tried, but their offerings leave much to be desired. The 516 ticks the vast majority of boxes for me as a DT520 successor and I know of a few former Team DT USA members that have jumped onboard with the 516.

Hey sorry to here you missed out. I talked to Justin at Amain and herd you were upset, I would've been too. I bought mine in August because I knew this would happen. I was # 2 on the list.  I like buying from because of store rewards. I would talk to Matt and see if he can find you one. He's helped me out on an N5c TT before. That's an awsome heli too. I sold the one I had but going to get another one some time. Here's my cell # 443-307-6171 text me in a while and if I don't like it I'll sell it to you. That's a slim chance but I had a Align 500 Dominater and didn't like it. If that happens with this I will sell it to you.

This 516 is a definite winner, superior quality, flies light with good air presence and visibility, looks great. Performance is phenomenal.
My only complaint is the cost of the battery lock system as I want at least 5 battery trays so that is like an extra $174.00 and the locks are sold out.

Yeah I know the lock seems pricy but you have to remember, Synergy is a much lower volume brand than say Gaui, SAB, or Align.  With lower volume, comes higher costs for machining and stuff.

It's give and take.  High quality parts that are consistent and reliable, with a OEM dedicated to customer service, or lower prices to get volume up and increased parts consistency issues.

Believe me, Matt works very hard to keep prices down where he can.  The good news is, parts like the loc aren't going to be breaking every crash.  In most cases, that's a buy once and never again kind of part.
