Title: Nitro OS 55 HZR clicking noise
Post by: rmarlan on October 23, 2017, 09:46:28 PM
Just completed engine rebuild bearings and piston ring.  Engine starts and runs great - but there is a loud clicking noise. The clutch is properly aligned - I don't see anything rubbing.  This is the video.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like either the clutch stack or the fan hitting the shroud.  Can you hold the starter hex still while the engine is running without it dieing?

If you spin the sharter and engine by hand is that noise there>?

Sounds like the fan rubbing the housing, but as Chris mentioned clutch stack alignment can be off and cause this noise as well

Found the issue.  Not enough locktite on the clutch that was rubbing on the bottom of the bell!  Fixed and now running perfectly.  My OS 55HZR just had the Magnum Fuel Bushing Mod.  No more rear bearing issues.  Runs great.  Love my N5C - currently have N7 under construction.  Which child will I love the most?  :D.

Thanks for the help.  Bob
