Title: frustrated ball links

Any suggestions on easier link assembly?

I use the circular notch in my ball link pliers to hold the rod and then tools similar to these to relieve the stress on my fingers while screwing on the ball links:

They are also turn buckles one side is left thread the other is a right thread

I usually chuck the link rod in a drill and run the rod in and out of the plastic link a few times. Dhoskins26 mentioned a very important piece of information.... make sure you left the left and right threads correct or you will never thread them on properly.

I have one of the old helimax link tools that I turned down on a lathe many years ago so it will chuck into the drill

Lost my lathe in the move to florida over 20 years ago, so I've had the tool at least that long :)

that's not the most important thing to use though,.. that would be language.  Lots and lots of cursing is required.

I chucked it on my mill to make the slot bigger to accept the Synergy ball links (I only have Synergy helis).  I use this to get it started by hand, and then will use my 1/4" impact to get it most of the way on.  I've found it's much easier on the fingers and hands.  Helidirect used to have them, but now they don't carry them.  Anythingheli has them on their site: http://www.anythingheli.com/rjx-ball-link-driver-tool-for-manual-or-electric-blue/ (http://www.anythingheli.com/rjx-ball-link-driver-tool-for-manual-or-electric-blue/)
