VBar 5.2 Files: N5c, E6+E7
« on: September 21, 2011, 03:24:14 PM »
Here are my current VBar 5.2 Pro setup files for the N5c, E6+E7 (Tweaked by Matt Botos).

Note: These are *very fast* setups based on Futaba S.Bus + BLS-25x servos and Rail blades.  Be sure to adjust for your heli and flight style as necessary.

That is very nice thanks I'd like to compare with my vBar5.2 but before please give us more info...
You flying it as a E6 or E7?
What servos are you using?
What ESC and motor (including KV)?
What C rate batteries?
What size main and tail blades?

Thanks.

You flying it as a E6 or E7? Both, same 12S setup (gains are slightly different but that's all)
What servos are you using? BLS255's and BLS256's @ 8.4v
What ESC and motor (including KV)? CC120HV ICE2 + Hacker A50-12L Turnado (470kv) 15T E6, 14T E7
What C rate batteries? 6S TP 65C 3850's/4400's
What size main and tail blades? Rail 606/96 and Radix 690/110

Minor Update:  Using the 4 arm "plus" shaped futaba horn (16mm/outer hole) on the tail allows for getting the tail extent values down to around 100 and the tail is even more consistent, i.e., no whipping (even though it was minor).  You may have to raise your tail gain just a bit.

Hello,
Thank you for the info. I am using the same setup (other than JR servos on cyclic, BLS 251 on tail) on an E7 and am using the Futaba 8FG. Going from a 12X, the programming is definitely something to get used to!

My question is what is the gain setting for the tail (looking for a range). Also, if you are using an 8FG, how do you have it programmed for tail gain values? It is linked to the Idle-Up switch by default, but I would really like it on an independent switch so that I can try different values without changing flight modes.

Thanks!!!

I let the VBar software control my tail gain.  With a BLS251 I was around 90, with a BLS256 I'm up to around 100 on both 96mm and 106mm tail blades.

Also, be sure to check out bank switching on the VBar, lets you run completely different VBar configurations on a switch, just be sure to copy your good working base config to the other banks before experimenting.

What type of gyro tape/stack up are you using on N5c?
