Yep very excited. Just trying to figure out if I want to jump ship to the greatness that is Futaba! This heli is so cleanly put together with the s-bus.

Flight #19 in the rain. Does anyone else fly in the rain? Tried a mini auto and stuck the tail in the mud spraying my heli with grass and mud! Need some monster truck tires!

That's why we don't fly in the rain😄

Seriously though I have flown in a light mist but never in the rain. Probably wouldn't bother the motor but flybarless units would like it much. The Helicommands have the sockets facing upwards and water could get in easily.

It wasn't that bad just exaggerating a bit.
LOL
Dry when I started to a very light rain. Not good for the DX8 either.
Coming up on two hours if flight with no crashes! Starting to get comfortable with the way it flies.

Doh! First 700 crash flight #20. Working on inverted hovering basics. Drove head first in the the mud! Broke the Todd Bennit rule not three mistakes high.

For the most part this plus some bearings need to be replaced. Still need to bench check the electronics. They look good so far. Might need a pep talk! LOL
Hey found a use for my other E7 kit!

Well my worst crash was about the same amount of damage.
You will likely need to change ALL the bearings for the main shaft and the radials in the head if I had to guess.  Was that a blade grip arm? Man that bearing block is toast. Never bent one of those. I did bend a whole tail assembly once :-)
So there is your pep talk...  Bottom line is that it could always have been worse.

Keep us posted on the rebuild.

Cheers
Alan

Thanks working the five stages if grief now! Currently on bargaining "anyone want to by a heli"!
Must have skipped depression and moved right to acceptance as I already ordered another KDE head.  The other one is toast.
Funny thing is watched the smack talk video E7 review earlier today and Matt says it would be hard to bend that grip arm! Totally killed it.

With a hit that hard I would look at the inner swash balls and see if any are bent. If you we're running the long ball mod there is a good chance.

Sorry to see the damage. You will be back up in the air soon.

Swash balls look ok. The issue is the mud got into everything. The big swash ball is slightly damaged and a little gritty. I don't think it comes apart?

Not sure on getting it up soon. Take my time building it. I may go back to the sim for a while. Need to work out some more basics. In can fly it pretty good right side up just not inverted.

Yes my worst crash to date was when I started working on inverted last summer.  I was probably a little premature trying it and let the E7 get off to my left side.  Corrected wrong and put it in.  Was only about 1 mistake high at the time.  Bad decisions on my part.
That was just prior to IRCHA last year.  Went to IRCHA and bought 2 hellicommands.  No major crashes to date.  I am much more daring with the HC's installed.  Thank You Helicommand!
You must get the muscle memory down.  I still have more trouble with tail in inverted than nose in. Lots and lots of sim time really helps with the muscle memory.  With the HC though you should feel at least a little more comfortable.  For me its more of the fear of crashing than the actual skill.  Mind over matter!

Didn't that E7 have a HC3-SX?
