Another 1st time nitro build
« on: February 14, 2013, 05:15:11 PM »
Been flying electrics for a couple years now, and I currently own an E5 and E7. Decided to take the plunge into nitro with an N5c. Can someone give me some feedback on my planned setup?

N5c
O.S. 55HZ-R DRS
O.S. PowerBoost II
Futaba BLS 156HV cyclic
Futaba BLS 256HV rudder
Futaba S9650 throttle
vBar Full Silverline
Rail 606 mains
Rail 96 tail
Pulse 3600mAH 7.4v RX-Ultra
Gryphon Extreme-Heli GVR-7020B w/ slide switch
Futaba R6202SBW rx
Switch-Glo Pro remote
Spektrum RevLimit rpm sensor
KDE backplate sensor bracket
O.S. bubbleless clunk
FBL rotors titanium turnbuckles

EDIT:  If it matters, I use a Futaba 8FG Super TX.

My throttle servo is not HV, so I thought the regulator was necessary.

My throttle servo is not HV, so I thought the regulator was necessary.

You could buy a voltage stepdown, that plugs in to the servo plug which would take it down to 5v
I think that on the vbar the throttle servo port is not the full voltage, so you wouldn't need a hv servo, don't quote me on this, you would need to check, I have hv throttle servos on all my vbar Helis.

Thanks, guys. Picked up my kit last night, but the engine and electronics won't arrive for a few more days. Starting the airframe assembly this weekend. I'll post a few pics along the way. Just barely getting started at the moment.

Well, finished up the airframe this afternoon. Now I'm just waiting for my engine and electronics, which should be here in a few days. Looking forward to maidening her hopefully next weekend.

Starting to come together now. Just need to run my fuel lines, install the Switch Glo Pro and RPM sensor, and secure my antenna wires. I really like the Gryphon remote LED switch.
