N5 quick release canopy mounts
« on: October 13, 2011, 11:01:59 AM »
Got a set of these from Matt this weekend, and man are they awesome! They simply thread into the existing canopy stand offs and you're good to go! They hold the canopy on well and they are pushing it out from the main gear some as well as eliminating any denting from the canopy being tightened down too much from the thumb screws.  Part number is 710-100.

Chem 'em out!  8)

Will these work for the N5c also? I am dying to get something quicker than unscrewing 4 of the mounts everytime. Only frustrating thing on the bird for me. Since I have to change the battery every 2 or 3 flights I have the potential to get frustrated a lot.  :P

Yes they work for both the N5 and N5c. I have them installed on my N5c.

Would these possibly work on the N9 canopy? I have SE thumb screws but these would be nice.

Thanks

They work well with Hatori pipes.

I've seen guys have troubles using them with the OS Power Boost.

Thanks,

Matt

on the pipe to bring it out a bit more or i might cut the standoff down a couple of mm to make it miss the pipe.

Put them on a lathe and cut about 3/4 off the base had to drill the hole deeper and run a tap down it also.

It's brand new so the canopy is really stiff and wanting to kick out a bit the magnets are really strong so I don't think I will be a problem.

I have the funtec pipe it seems to be bigger than the hatori
