Hello,

new crash today for me... It seems the pivot ball short removes itself from the tail bearing ring. So no more tail function during the flight....

Regarding the N5C state after the crash, it's preferred to get a new complet N5C kit.

Just a question: do you have advices for me to make more reliable this assembly? Or does it exist an upgrade (KDE or linx) to get a fork with 2 points to replace it?

Thanks.

man, im sorry to see and hear that......

i have never had this happen before. there is an all metal upgrade one for the E7SE though that may help.

if you do go back with the one you have, use a drop of CA glue as you would loctight on metal parts. that has held mine good and tight for over a year.

again, i am sorry to hear this, that stinks....

I have not seen one come out in flight. But I do put ca on any metal bolts going into plastic control surfaces.

Thank you Gasser Mike.

regrding the manuals of N5C, E5 and E7 SE, it seems the combo:

320-320 E7SE Tail Pitch Slider Threaded
109-813 8x10x3 E7SE Brass Spacer
320-319 E7SE Tail Bearing Ring Aluminum
320-321 E7SE Tail Pitch Plate Threaded

could fit in place of

615-319 Tail Pitch Slider Bushing (for 6mm shaft)
115-319 Tail Bearing Ring
115-321 Pitch Plate
106-813 Tail Slider Lock Ring

To be verified :-) . If it is true, it could be a metal solution and I will be more confident

http://mattbotos.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_27&products_id=1964

that one is the one you are looking for.

you still need to clean oil off and locktight everything.

did you use CA on the plastic one? i have never seen that issue before, that is so unfortunate.

Maybe I'm missing something. I'm trying to figure out how the bellcrank broke if the ball was missing. Sorry to hear about your crash.

Jason has a very good point. Are you 100% sure the ball did not depart as a result of the crash. Could have been other reasons you lost tail control.
Just something to think about.

I am not sure at 100%. Thinking about it last night, maybe I forgot to use CA during last repair....

For the bellcrank, I supposed it was during the ground impact.

To be continued :-)

Ralph at FBLRotors.com does have a upgrade bellcrank if you are looking to replace the plastic one.  http://www.fblrotors.com/FBLROTORS-Metal-Bell-Crank-Synergy_p_657.html.  But, if the ball wasn't secured with CA, that is probably the culprit...
