Fan Hub to Crankshaft attachment
« on: November 24, 2014, 11:54:24 PM »
I need to disassemble my hub from the engine but it has been so long since I built it I can't remember whether it is screwed or pressed on to the crank shaft.

Further, the manual that I have doesn't show anything at all regarding the assembly of the fan hub to the engine: Despite browsing the Synergy web site (there is no search feature) and searching the forum here, I can't locate the latest version of the manual!

How is the fan hub attached to the engine?
Any idea where the latest version of the assembly manual is located?

Lastly, the CAPTCHA code is almost impossible to decipher...

Thank you!
Chris

The fan hub is clamped on to the crankshaft. You will need to loosen the two clamping screws on the side of the hub and then remove the crank shaft nut. Then the hub should slide off.

There is a nut on the threaded end of the crankshaft that has to be removed and two pinch bolts on the fan hub that need to be loosened.  You have to remove the clutch from the fan hub, first, and then remove the nut.  You'll need a tool to hold the connecting rod to keep the crankshaft from turning while you loosen the nut.

All of the manuals can be found on the Synergy helicopter website, here:
