New head
« on: September 02, 2015, 07:03:47 PM »
I have a friend that tells me that E7 and E7se actually have a head originally built for a 600 size heli. Is that right? As I understand it now, E7se has a new head compared to E7. Is the E7se head the same as for N7?

The original E7 head was built as a 700 size head. It was taller and the swash follower arms were not on the head block. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe the N7 shares the same head.

The original E7/6 kit was a 700 size kit that could be built with included parts to a 600 size with a shorter tail and blade hole adapters.  I have not heard of anyone shrinking the E7SE down to a 600 size.

The original E7/6 came with a now outdated head with separate swash followers arms.

The E7SE kit comes with the modern head with integrated swash follower arms.

Thank you for your replies. But it seems like the blade grips and swash plate is still the same?

The Blade Grips are the same part number 520-514.  However, the E7SE blade grips come with grease ports.

E7/6 Blade Grips

E7SE Blade Grips.

I believe the swash is the same for both, part 200-401.

the E7SE and the N7 do use the same head.

there are a few differences in the new head they use and the older E6/7 head though. the blade grips now have a grease port in them, the head is much lower, the pitch arms were re-designed to give better geometry with modern FBL units, the swash follower arms are integrated, and the head uses the head axle pivot.
