Shrink my E7se to E6 questions
« on: November 27, 2015, 02:49:47 PM »
Hey guys, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Have a few questions for you gurus. Ive tried numerous different brands 700 electrics, I just DONT love the feel of 700 electric. Feels massively too heavy in the air for me. I LOVE my N7, power to weight and disc loading SPOT ON. 700e...ehhh. (Nitro rules) The only way I've been (actually) happy with any e700 is at cranking high headspeed..(like 2300 or more), don't wanna run that high.  I love a electric 600 much better. SOOO, Im thinking of shrinking it down to a 600. Unsure of gearing and such, guessing a 600 boom and TT thats it? And blades obviously. What size tail blades? Its a 700se with scorpion ultimate/castle 160HV. Don't wanna change that. I have 4500 stick packs, 5000 stick packs, and 3000 stick packs too choose from. The only way I can do this is to use what I have as far as batteries and electronics. I don't wanna have to buy anything different there. Id just sell it if thats case instead. I have a stack of different length booms here I could use or cut down 700 booms that wouldn't be an issue. Maybe cut down the TT as well? Lengths??? Ideas?? Info please. Wanna hear from people that have had it as a E6 and options. Thanks. Have a great weekend guys......Aaron

Missing a few parts, like push rod and boom braces.

I'd go with Rails 626 and Rails 96 tails.

Got those here as well, more wondering about gearing and if the electronics and packs I have here will work. Thanks  8)

Ideally you will use your 4500 packs. Gearing is same at E7. Castle 160 will be more than you need but will work.

Wont the disk loading be horrible on 4500 packs? It is on my E5 626 stretch. 3000 packs will probably be too light id assume.

3300-3700ma packs for 626mm blades, and 3000-3300ma packs for 606mm blades are what I would shoot for to get the disk loading like you are describing.

Even worse.  Identical configurations using the e7 frame will always be worse for loading because it's a heavier airframe that can't be avoided.  There's no way to get an e7 running a 600 disc to fly as light as an e5 with a 600 disc. There will always be 12oz of dead weight. :)

Yea I figured. I may try to put the 716s back on it with the 4500s and try to "lighten" it up a bit. Just wish it flew as light as my N7...nitro is still winning in the loading department.  8)

Sounds like you would be better to build a E5ss, which should have a better disc loading than the N7 and still have the bullet proof drivetrain. Maybe you could find someone who would swap an E5 for your E7 and stretch it to a 626 or 700.
