Tail rotor play

Is there suppose to be play in the tail rotor grips? I have about a mm or so if axial play.

yes sir. its very important too. so after you re-build it a few times, you may notice that it has disappeared. when that happens, its usually due to lock tight buildup on the M3 washer that the bolt goes though to hold the grip onto the hub. if that happens, remove the bolt and washer, and clean it up to look brand new, or simply replace it with a new bolt and washer, and the it will likely come back just fine. took me a few times of looking into it to figure that out.

Ok. Thank you for that info. By the way, do you know where I can get rotor blade shims. I have 600mm with 12 mm root. So there is about a 2 mm gap between grip and blade. Can I use regular washers?

they usually come with Rail Blades in the package. honestly, I don't know where to order them from, but if you will PM me your address, I will send you some to use. I have a crap load of them.
