play in clutch on new n5c
« on: January 24, 2016, 05:17:23 PM »
I had a pretty rough landing the other day and broke the skids. While I was installing new ones I went ahead and took the fan cover off to inspect and noticed that the clutch bell has about 1 to 2mm of verticle play on the clutch.Just wondering if this is normal. This heli only has about ten flights on it

Up & down play? Check that starter cup is on the top bearing in the block with the shaft pushed up against the bottom bearing in the block.. May want a small amount of vertical give in it tho so that it's not so tight that the cup spins with the motor. And ensure the set screw in the cup hits the flat spot on the shaft. Hope that helps.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Clay.
