Clutch liner

I've read alot of discussion on liner replacement but can't find anything saying if there is a certain side of the liner that should face the the clutch assembly.Just wondering if it matters which side that u put the epoxy on.

I will always scuff up one side of the liner so the epoxy sticks. I use the smooth side to the clutch engagement side.
