I have a Spartan VX1e on my E5s. Flies awesome.

I had a Brain 2 on my Protos 380 but I just couldn't get that locked in feeling that a Vbar or Spartan has.
For me I like Spartans on my electris one silver line Vbar on my nitros.
It was my first experience with the brain. I may give it another try on a different heli at some point.
One positive was that the rescue worked perfectly.

I finished installing my Brain 2 today.  Everything is mostly setup.  Gov is setup, banks are setup, everything is working as it should from what I can see on the bench.  I have to wait for a new bec to replace the new one I bought that was bad out of the box.   I did get the setup done using a bec that provided enough power for unloaded servos's but doesn't hold up in flight.

I have to find Chris's video on auto rotation bail out setup.  I am running in multirotor mode on the esc.  Rescue and self level are working on the bench at least.  I did take the extra time to install Ralph's turnbuckles that my wife bought for my birthday, and I started switching out some old ec5's to the castle 6.5mm connectors after 2 ec5 housing's split apart.

Now to sell off my sk540's and field terminal.  When I get the money for an N5c scraped up I think I will put a brain on it two.  I like it's features and tuning parameters over the 540's.

Sextons tutorials are fantastic, but be aware that a lot has changed in the firmware and software since he made his videos. I think some of the guys have updated tutorials on helifreak. To use autorotation bailout you will have to make sure your throttle hold is set above 0% but less than 10%, I like to set it so I see 6%-8% in software. Because of this you will probably want to set a throttle cut switch to 0% so you can arm your ESC and so that the software will be able to initiate check mode during setup operations. Make sure auto bailout is enabled for each bank you want to use it for and set the "bailout timeout" slider for how long you want bailout to stay active after you hit throttle hold. If you set timeout for 60 seconds and it only takes you 15 seconds to auto it will still spool rapidly until that timer runs out. When bailout mode is active it will be visibly indicated on the unit by flashing the green LED. This gives you a way of knowing if it's going to spool up fast or slow when it's on the ground. You can cancel the timer at any time by flipping into a different bank and then back to the bank you want to fly in and it will spool up slowly again.

Thanks for the info Danny.  So basically set it up the same as you would if using a castle on an old flybar heli.  Raise the throttle hold until it starts to turn and back it down until it stops.  I will have to set another switch for throttle cut..  Thanks again.

Similar but not necessarily the same, the motor may not begin to spin until beyond 10% throttle. It's best to go by the numbers in the software ;) But yeah that's it, pretty simple!

When I set up my ikon I used Chris videos, I have never set a heli  fbl , I did everything he said, they were price less to me. When I was done I took it out and had 2 clicks of trim on the elevator hover was perfect. Took it to the field, flew perfect, tail was lock in was awesome.
