BD 3SX FBL placement on the N5C
« on: January 13, 2017, 11:20:15 PM »
Hi Guys,

I'm new to Synergy, started building a new N5C.  I'm going to use a Bavarian Demon 3SX as my FBL, where can I mount it?  The frame is so narrow it won't fit inside, so the only place I can envision is on top of the servo tray.  But since the connectors are on top, I don't know that there's room under the canopy.  Anyone else flying the Demon?

that is the only place to put it man. it will be ok though, just put it closer to the rear of the servo block and the canopy should have plenty of room.

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to flying but my 3SX has been performing perfectly where it's mounted. No issues with vibration or interference. No issue with canopy fitting.

See pics.

Hi Jay, thanks for the pic.  That's a lot further forward than I would have expected.  I ended up mounting mine at the back of the servo tray, where you have your RX, and even put the connectors at the rear.  Good to know there's so much room under there!

Yeah, had to place it there to have the clearance for the receiver and the glow plug igniter/voltage regulator stack to clear the canopy and to keep it as far away from vibration of the gears/drive shaft.

Nicely done Jay.
I fly Demons as well. About to build a fresh N5C with the Axon installed. It will be nice not to have to use a mulitigov :-)

Cheers

Thanks Kevin!  The build has been delayed by work and weather, so I'll check out the tips and tricks.
