N5C Vbar NEO PITCH! Worried!

(1/3) > >>

J Anthony:
Good day everyone,
I just built my first N5C and I'm also using a Vbar (NEO) for the first time. So far I love the setup software. My problem is I have WAY too much pitch. Going down to 80 on the slider (the lowest they suggest) only brought it down to about 15 degrees of collective pitch. Even bringing the slider all the way down wasn't close enough. I have the balls on the servo horns 10mm from the bolt as suggested. The only thing I could find that works was to lower my pitch curve in the TX (Futaba 18SZ) to 69 on both sides. The NEO software says something about doing this if I read it correctly and tells you that if you change the pitch curve in software it will also change it in your VControl if that's what you're using. That's what made me think it was OK to do. Anyway... if anyone can shed some light on this I'd REALLY appreciate it. Thank you very much.

J,

Congrats on your build first an for most, regarding the Neo question, I know Mike Spano flies the Neo on his N5c and I would suggest sending him a pm. I know that system compliments the machine very well as well as your Futaba. Sounds like you did your homework and have put together a really nice machine...

J Anthony:
Thanks for the reply Kevin. I actually PM'd Mike right after I posted that but I figured the more the merrier when it comes to advice, plus I don't know what his work schedule is. I've built many kits but I've never used VBar. I LOVE the software they use for setup, but this one thing I'm not certain about. Actually I'm not certain about setting up the nitro gov function either, but one thing at a time. L. Thanks again.

Matt Botos:
Make sure your pivot balls on the servo are mounted at 10mm out from the center of the servo.

I have an n5c with a Neo as well. My numbers are lower than 80 without any issues. Some say they can feel a difference with lower numbers and have ground down their wheels to move the balls in. I think it flys great with the balls at 10mm and the numbers low enough to get 12 degrees of pitch. I don't think you will be happy flying it with 15 degrees of pitch.
