Fuel age
« on: June 22, 2017, 08:36:35 AM »
Hi,

I finally used up my cases of fuel.   Several people have it for sale, but is is several years old, yet sealed.  Does fuel go bad or stale?

Also, I used a equal mix of Wildcat 15% and Wildcat Curtis 30%.   Can I switch to another brand if I can't find Wildcat?

Sport flyer, using OS 50 hyper in my two N5c .

Fuel does eventually go bad, some faster than others and depending how it's stored. If it's several years old I'd stay away and just buy new. You can definitely switch brands no problem. Different fuel will require a different tune. Best to run a little richer when experimenting with different fuel and tune from there.

Like testing a 2 liter coke if it's lost its fiz . Smell the fuel and if it is still good. If good it will have a sharp kick to it when smelling. You smell a good bottle and you will know what I mean.
