Which one is right, Maybe both.
« on: September 25, 2017, 02:14:23 PM »
I ordered some parts to rebuild the head on my E5, one of the parts I ordered was 100-554, the M5 washer used to retain the blade grip. I already had a package of these that I forgot I had. Both packages have the same part number on them, the the OD and the thickness is different as can be seen in the photos. Did this part get updated? Which set should I use? I believe that the bag with the thicker washers is the older bag

Hello. I do not recall the part changing on the washers but I have the thicker set on my blade grips. As long as the washer doesn’t touch the outer race and is thick enough to keep the grip screw from bottoming out I don’t foresee a problem using either set. What Are the OD and thickness differences between the sets?

The larger one is OD 12mm, 2mm thick, ID 5.3 mm. The smaller one is OD 9.75 mm, 1 mm thick, ID 5.3 mm.

That’s quite a difference. Let me take a look and get some measurements this evening.

Where were these purchased? I do not recognize the header card for the thicker washers.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt,

All purchased from Shannon at Only Fine Helis. When I looked through my spares I found I had four packages of these. I had just ordered two last week, of course I didn't check my spares before I ordered. The smaller ones in the Synergy packaging are the one I got in the latest order.

Sorry I did not notice that the product was from a different supplier. Well that sums up which is the correct one. The Synergy packaged parts are factory spec and I trust those to be the correct size. I would highly suggest that you run the Synergy washers but as I said before, the others can probably be used as long as the previous criteria that I noted are met.

Mark, I think Shannon gets these parts from Matt. Matt or Shannon could tell us. Just to add to the story, the head I am rebuilding had the bigger washer on it to start with, I bought the heli used and am in the process of redoing it. I just looked at the head on my E5s and it looks like it has the bigger washer on it, same with my N5c. Looks to me that the new ones in the Synergy packaging are what has changed. I'm sure Matt will let us know shortly.

Use the thicker washer for the blade grip bolt washers.

Thanks!

I apologize for the delay and I know it probably isn't that important now that Matt responded but I have the measurements for you from my N5c and E5. The washers are 2mm thick with an OD of 11.9 on both heads.

Thanks Mark,

Thats what I found too. The head is together with the thick washers.
