Synergy 516 head speed

How low head speed can I expect with 16 tooth pinion and 18tooth tail pulley. talon 90 scorpion 4020-1350

1350kv, assuming 6s so 22.2v nominal, 16/181 gearing,.. the math shows 2649 possible.  I'd agree with chris,.. wouldn't go much lower.  If you check esc temps at end of each flight you may be able to get it down a little more that Chris states but I'd be very careful on esc temps.  ESC temp will be the critical thing. KV and gearing is really too high to slow it down much.

I'm doing 2100 and 1700 but using an 1100kv motor with 16 tooth pinion.

A lot depends on the ESC. If it actively freewheels, you can get away with lower head speeds without too much extra ESC heating.

As he says above, active freewheeling will allow you to get away with much lower headspeeds and not pop anything, although it's still very innefficient to just run low throttle like that.  I currently don't use active freewheeling (synchronous rectification) ESC's, so I forget about that option. I just gear appropriately and choose appropriate KV motors
