How important is the O-ring on the OS bubble less clunk?

Not that important. I removed mine when I used one probably because of the same reason you’re asking “it doesn’t fit through the hole”.

YUP mine snapped!!!

Al Tulone:
No worries. I ran the bubbleless for years without the o-ring. No running a bladder system.
