Finished the Assembly, installed the servos , one slight error, I recently purchased a BK Mini servo and the

the motor that sticks out  of the servo case did not fit the servo square on the the frame, so had to file a little

hump on each side of the rectangle on the frame for that particular servo to fit. It is the BK 5005 HV mini servo

Overall this nitro Kit is extremely enjoyable to assemble. Now for the electronics , receiver, battery, servo

setup.  Looking good for not this weekend but the following one for the maiden flight.  ;D

Few delays , had postpone the flight schedule. Slight learning curve on the mz 24 pro radio trying to learn the navigation of windows and function of it.

Do have a question about  the flight characteristics of the tail rotor.

Looking behind and top of the tail blades what direction does the leading tail blade point towards to, to counter
the torque? I do not want to cork screw the heli in to the ground  during spooling up? :'(

Thx

Damper,
Put your finger on the bell crank and slide the tail to your left. This will simulate the helicopter turning right. The bell crank and tail control  rod should push back to you as you stand behind it.

This picture is full left input. Remember the N5c turns clockwise on the tail so the leading edge is forward looking from the top.

Finished the set up and be ready to go next weekend. Hopefully just a few minor adjustments and be trusted for

the airworthiness certificate at  the airfield. All the safety criteria range testing and engine idle , throttle hold and

throttle cut , fail safe, etc. :)

Group pic . Just giving them a intro to each other. The Nexus does fly much more for static display. Rave 450 goes both places, mostly at the house though. Raptor 70 mostly doing autos with and mostly just mild circuits, the SE Raptor was the work horse but I believe it is going into semi retirement.

Thanks for the help and advice and the helpful tips.  :)

Got her started up and realized that I put the auto hub upside down :(. No problem, came here and ask for some advice and the  simple solution was to flip the main gear over .

Started her up again and the clutch is engaging nicely.

Perhaps this weekend will be day , weathering permitting. Rain in the forecast >:(

well the weather is not cooperating this weekend. But I was able to do some baby hovering with it today.

I have too high of throttle  for normal flight right now not hard to control but very sensitive in the cyclic. Some

expo should take care of that and toning  down the throttle curve for normal flight.

That OS 55 hzr wants to run like a scolded ape hate to see it in idle up right now.  ;D

Yes, that's great to hear.  So no worries about power!  I was a little concerned coming from electrics.  Glad you got her up in the air.

Found out why the swashplate was acting sensitive and odd. I forgot

to loctite the washout control arms. Fortunately they are 23 mm bolts, but

on that cause a tail rotor strike on the ground doing an auto when I realize

I did not full control of the cyclic. Broke the front transmission gears. Not

A terrible repair . It could ended up worse than it did.

After the transmission repair and loctiting  the control arms and One do over on changing throttle and pitch curve she settled in with a little sensitivity on the roll side but very much controllable.

Tomorrow morning taking her to the field probably add some 10% dual on the roll. I did add 15% of expo but I think I will deaden the center for it too much if add more. If everything goes well there and tuning the engine I will in good shape for flying circuits . :)
