My good friend Clint Akins put this video together. I think its a perfect representation of an energy efficient setup.

That's fantastic!

Is the KDE that much more efficient than the HKIII or does the 606 disc allow for a more efficient gearing?

Both maybe?

I don't know, but now I gotta try it!

I run this motor in my stock E5. It's a great choice. Nice work KDE. I do run higher head speed and shorter flight time though but it would easily be that efficient in Clints setup.

Hey Shane what is your flight time and HS?

I am running Scorpion 1100 and getting 4mins with 30% remaining.

Tim,

Around 2400 but I only fly for 3 1/2 - 4 mins. On the conservative side. Been really hot here this summer as you know so less time is required. Plenty of time for me to concentrate though.

Very nice flight Joe!  That Savox motor has a unique sound for sure! Seemed like it had power to spare.

Puckered up a bit for you on that landing approach :) I am sure that was intentional ;)

I might try this after the hot weather leaves.  Trying to keep the flights relatively short with the hot temps.

The Hero3 Black edition actually exceeds my expectations. A long time ago I had purchased the original GoPro and it was pretty much a turd. I was hesitant but bought into the hype for the 3 and I'm glad I did.

Just FYI, turn the shooting mode to 1080P normal because if you have wide screen on it can get hard to see the heli when you're out in the field.

Yes. I learned that this weekend. Can't wait to give it another try on Saturday. I have the silver edition. The iPhone app really makes adjusting the camera a snap. Also helps with verifying your aim when mounted on your head :-)

Cheers
