Clutch bell
« on: March 30, 2013, 07:07:24 PM »
Since I'm new to the whole nitro drive train... Is it normal for the clutch bell to rattle?  Is that why it's called a clutch bell, because it does rattle all the time and ring like a bell?  Or, is something loose?

My clutch bells don't make any rattling noise. I would check things out.

I didn't think it was rattling the first couple of times I fired it up so I figured I'd check. Thanks Chris.

A rattling definitely not. Now I have had bells in the past make a "bell dinging" sound occasionally. I would regardless go through and verify the clutch stack & motor are aligned from the bottom up.

Hi Roodney,

The clutch bell and stack shouldn't rattle, I would disassemble and check the assembly and condition of the clutch stack and also the alignment of the engine and clutch stack.

Keep us updated

What starter are you using? Maybe the wand is slightly bent? just something to look for.
