Hi Guiwee,

Sorry to see your having an issue with the canopy rubbing the maingear.

It looks from your photos that you are using quick release canopy fixings on the rear canopy attachment point. What quick release fixings are you using and how long are the female ends that fix to the mechanics of the helicopter and accept the quick release pin?

The female ends should be of equal length to the original 610-422 rear canopy posts, if they are not then the canopy will sit closer to the main gear and cause the fouling of the main gear and the rubbing you are seeing.

as Ross stated, they need to be as long, if not a little bit longer than the factory mounts. you can actually use some tail blade spacers in between the canopy mounts and the frames to space them out a little (i do this on every one of my helis).

another thing i do....once i get my canopy mounted, i take some of that Styrofoam PVC pipe insulation for 1" pipe, and split it down the middle. so i have to pieces shaped like a "C". i install my canopy, and put one piece of foam between the main gear and the canopy on each side. then i take my heat gun, and warm the entire area up on both sides. i even warm up the front of the canopy and where the mounts go into the canopy. this will open up a little more space. just be careful not to get too hot an damage the canopy or the paint. the fiberglass can be formed to fit by doing this, and you will never have an issue like that again......

I have installed washers under the canopy mount that attaches to the frame.  This pushed the canopy mount outward and provided the needed clearance.

Well took a different approach.. On my N5C I follow a thread on HF (don't recall who started it) in which the N7 canopy mount were used.. Since I too noticed the main gear scrubbed the canopy, I lengthened the mounts as I did the mod by cutting the original post, did away with the set screw and ran a long screw thru the new & cut original. So more more thumb screws.. Cup mounts on the front.. No burning ur fingers try'n to take off the canopy.. And keychain stlye in the rear. Turned out nice.. Very pleased with the mod. I did cut my canopy tho. The spot in the frame for the power switch didn't allow u to use it unless u took the canopy off.. So I cut hole and trimmed it with the same fuel tubing I used to plumb the engine.. Another good turn out.. I'm really loving the look of this bird. Glad I dove into the Synergy game!

My Friends. I had to use Dremel as well.... Is this an issue we are all having...? Also I have noticed that the canopy is really Fragil and delicate..

I was wondering if any of you use a Canopy Cover for your Synergy N5c? When traveling to the field I go real tight in my car with all the stuff. So wanted to put a cover to the canopy.
Do you know if Synergy does any Canopy Covers?
As a note:
I used an old one, that I had but it does not fit and it seems canopy is to delicate and it just breaks or cracks ...used some Instant Cure glue, to solve the problem.... )
Any ideas please.

as with any model, you have to do a little tweaking to get the canopy perfect. i simply use spacers to widen the back. i use tail blade spacers, 2 on each side on the back, under the female keychain mount. really no need in cutting the canopy all up. mine fits perfectly with the spacers, i think i may have use a little heat to shape the canopy around the gear too.

Canopies are subject to distortions once the are removed from the molds. Typically the E7 and E5 have not been a problem. Occasionally the N5c canopies may need tweeting with a heat gun as well as the N7 ones.
Yes I do have E5 covers. Almost out but I do have some going to my embroidery person later in the week n
