Ball link adapter rubs on washout arms
« on: June 30, 2015, 07:53:22 PM »
Hello All,

Rebuilding with the updated washout arms.  When I attached the ball link adapters they rub and don't rotate as freely as I would like (and yes I remembered to put the M3 shim in :)).  Has anyone else had this issue?  Am I missing something?  Should I just put another M3 shim in?  Thanks guys.

how tight? I typically do use 2-3 m3 shims, although it shouldn't be needed. don't over tighten the bolts obviously...

Pretty tight but I would not say too tight. I will add one more shim on each side and see how that feels.  Thanks for your reply.

Be careful here the lock tight can wick down the bolt and lock up the bearing and make it feel tight, I put lock tight in the adapter first

something small like the adapter I use a tooth pick dip in lock tight put in threads wipe off excess then put together stand with bolt up keeps thread lock from wicking down the bolt. just for about 10 mins til lock tight starts to set up
