696 Dampers
« on: August 04, 2020, 11:46:05 AM »
Hello,
Looking for options for harder dampers. I had a boom strike in my 696 Gasser, and want to eliminate any possibilities of it happening again. One of the things I wanted to do is run harder dampers. I have not found an option for this. I have another friend running essentially the same heli, with a light boom strike, his was nothing more than a small dent in the boom. My blades were tight, was doing tic-tocs when it hit. It was an instant explosion, everyone at the field had an opinion, just trying to ensure it does not happen again.
Thanks

I assume you  using the black dampeners (2 each side). Haven’t seen anything that would easily replace them. 90’s are pretty hard. Try a wrap of electrical tape to preload them?
