Throttle Curve Setup Help
« on: September 03, 2015, 11:27:36 PM »
First Nitro here. If no rain tomorrow may get my maiden in on the N5c. So Im not gonna try the governor till I get it more dialed in and feel comfortable. Using a DX9, How should I set this up. Right now on the bench I have 0 to 65% in normal. Straight 75% in IU1, and 85% in IU2. Im sure this isn't right so looking for some help before the maiden.
Thanks in advance guys..  :)

You should set your normal throttle curve to 0-100.  The middle of the stick should put the carb barrel about half open. Once you find where the throttle curve  needs to be at half stick to actually hover, you can make that the starting point for your idle 1 and 2.   My thoughts for your starting throttle curves normal 0,15,30,45,100 idle 1 100,55,35,55,100 idle 2 100,60,40,60,100
These curves should put you around 1950,2000,2100 rpm.

it is going to be much easier to dial that heli in with the gov on and keeping the HS stable IMO.

Thanks for the Info Mark. Didn't get to maiden today, But did fire the new OS up in the garage and set idle. Running way to fat right now. I have the Main and mid needles at about 2 turns out. Hopefully tomorrow will get to get it in the air.

Mike thanks for your info also, I have the governor hooked up, just disengaged in the Ikon. Now the reason, or my reasoning, which I know nothing about Nitros, or flying helicopters good for that matter. LOL! I just thought Id get a tank or 2 on the engine, and get used to it, then start dialing it in for me. Big air flyer here. Start doing to much 3D and I'm like a fish out of water.   ::)
