Title: What do you use to secure your Gyro?
Post by: copenhagen on December 05, 2013, 07:07:18 AM
I have never built a Nitro anything before.

I will be using the almighty V-Bar Silverline (stole it for $240 on a daily-deal from Ready Heli on Black Friday at midnight).

I read that Zeal tape should be placed beneath the sensor and then the sensor should be strapped down with a zip-tie covered in a piece of nitro tubing.

Do I need a metal plate for the V-Bar Silverline?

You don't need any of that, especially with a silverline.  I run a blueline and use two layers of 3M 4011 tape. Very solid with no issues.

I use the stock tape that came with the sliverline and that works also.

Thank you, so would the silverline like the blueline benefit from two layers of tape?  (I have plenty of that 3m stuff)

The only reason I use two layers is because the plastic servo block is not very flat.  It helps to keep the sensor level over an imperfect surface.

I'm sure one layer would be fine with blue or silver sensors.

Thanks Darren.
