IKON setup for N5C
« on: July 19, 2014, 01:24:10 PM »
Hello,

I am just going to integrate my new IKon module on my N5C.

Could you give an idea of a good setup? Up ti now, I use the ikon standard setuo, but it seems to be very conservative.

Cyclic gain is 39 and agility 90. By default.

The heli is too soft for me.

Thanks

Hello!

Gains very depending on servos and ball lengths on the servo wheels but my n5c with ikon is such:

Start with 600 class 3d button on banks then set:

Cyclic gain 53
Elevator I gain raised to 70
Tail gain at 46% when read in ikon software
Cyclic roll rate 350
Tail yaw rate 400
Tail dynamic 25
Agility is at 70

Agility on ikon only effects expos and deadband. It isn't anything to do with max roll and flip rate like on other systems.

thank you Chris.

I have performed a try today with cyclic gain at 45% (instead of 39%). It is clearly more efficient for me.

Now, I have to work on the tail parameters to adjust its behaviour during ascent.

new question:

what kind of double tape pad you use for the IKON on the N5C?

It seems with the original pad, the IKON sees too much vibrations for the self level function.

Depending of the flights, my Ikon self level has different behaviours.

I tried to use the advanced menu to correct the parameters and reduce the perturbations but without succes.

SO, N5C users, could you sher your settings, and share the kind of pad you use to avoid vibration for this function?

thank you.

Honestly never tried to setup self level on the N5c, or any nitro for that matter.

You can try the "milton" mod.  Basically get some align gel tape, the thick stuff then strap the unit down with a zip tie through fuel tube.
