Another thing to check if your getting belt noise is the governor gain on Castle ICE controllers. Gain should be low. I got really bad belt slipping with anything above 5 on the Castle governor. I'm running a Scorpion 4525LE motor with the gov gain set to 1 and the PWM set to 16Khz.

Also make sure your tail output shaft is in the right position. (5mm protruding out of the left side of the tail box)
DO NOT use all of the available right rudder throw, you will stall the tail and the belt will skip. The tail was designed to allow the user to determine how much torque counteracting rudder throw is needed. I leave about 4mm between the brass slider and the tail box flange bearing.

Hi everyone! Just wanna find out, regarding silicone spray:
-which side do u spray it on? the 'toothed' side or the flat side or both?(forgive this noob haha! just wanna make sure! :P)
-How regularly?
-Wads the proper technique to do it?
-How much is enough?
-Can u do with the belt areadi set in the heli, or do u have to take it out 1st?
& is it recommended to use silicone spray on the belts of smaller helis like the 450 size, or issit unnecessary?
Lastly, the one i bought is the 3in1 professional silicone spray lubricant, is tat good?
thks in advance! ;)

Hey SoupZ,
You will want to spray the belt on the flat side and the tooth side. The best way to do it is how Kevin Feil suggested which is with the belt installed on the heli. You take your spray and spray it in the open area of the tail box while spinning the main rotor by hand. This ensures coating of the entire belt. Wipe up the excess with a rag then you can hang the heli tail down to let any more excess drip off over night. As far as how often I think depends on how often you fly but a few times per season should work but you don't have to do it every flight.
As far as your type, a lot of people use different kinds. As long as it is primarily a silicone spray you should be fine.

I never paid attention to the actual silicone content. I went to Advance Auto and bought liquid wrench silicone spray and it says the same thing on it as far as an all purpose silicone spray to lubricate and protect.
