Clunk line length

Guys, what length line are you using for the fuel tank clunk?  What was in my kit was a pretty good length, it allows the clunk to bend around the right side of the tank and sit right about in the middle.  I'm curious if this is too long.  What is interesting is that graphically, in various portions of the manual, it shows a relatively short length of tubing although it never says how long.  Matt I'd really like to hear from you on this one.  Thanks!

The fuel tubing in the kit has to be cut to length, what you are aiming for is the clunk to be close to the back of the tank, without touching. ensure that it can move freely around the tank.

Edit, just like it shows in the second picture you posted.

Mine is done as FlatEric mentioned.  Straight across until it hits the bottom left side of the tank and doesn't bind.  Allowing for the length of the fuel magnet I would say around 50mm. 
Ran mine today until it quit.  Only about 4-5 drops of fuel was left in the tank.  Gotta love the fuel magnet :-)

I did  the same as flyalan. I use the Lynx fuel magnet, also works great.

Using YS clunk -  64mm until it almost touches the back of the tank (straigth/left corner of the tank)

I am using the OS Bubbleless clunk, and its about 55-60mm long. Its just long enough to sit out straight and touch the bottom lip just before the tank raises at the back.

You do not want it bent round to the centre of the tank, it must swing free

Im running the same setup on my N7... I didnt measure mine but that about sounds right.

Hello Whoodie,

I didn't list this as everyone will use a different clunk.

The previous posts are correct.... You want the clunk to barely reach the first bend in the tank. This way the clunk can reach a wide range of areas to pick up fuel.

I highly recommend picking up one of the foam style or bubble-less clunks.

Thanks for the input guys I have to pull mine out and set it correctly .. I was afraid in left side low attitudes the clunk wouldn't get fuel.....

For those of you using the OS Bubble-less clunk, how are you getting it inside the tank? It's too big to insert with the rubber grommet around the clunk. I know Chris Sexton uses this exact clunk in his N7 build videos but the clunk installation was not done on film, so no help there.

I don't use the rubber o-ring on the clunk for the exact reason as you, it won't fit.  I didn't want to take a chance of the tank leaking by notching out the opening to let it fit.  Everything seems fine with my setup, I don't get lean runs unless I run the tank nearly dry.

Using the OS clunk on my machine as well without the rubber o-ring.  No issues.
