Synergy N5 Conversion
« on: February 25, 2013, 04:08:16 PM »
I have a new N5 that I've been wanting to build but would rather go electric. Well I've tried selling the N5 but some want you to get it to them, so I am keeping it.
I would like to know is there an electric conversion for this heli. I can't really afford to buy a new heli. Any heli would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Jamie

Jamie,
I have never seen a conversion for the N5 to electric.  I don't believe one exists.  Chime in someone if I am wrong.

The conversion would be a bit costly.  The swash on up through the head would be used.  The tail assembly and tail tube would also remain.  Most everything involved in the frame and gearing would have to be purchased.

I assume you are having trouble selling the N5 at a reasonable price.  The reselling of airframes and kits will always result in a loss of $$.  Just part of the hobby I guess.  Keep at it if you are that serious about going electric instead of Nitro.

I had an N5 early last year.  It was actually my first Synergy.  After I bought the E7 I sold the N5 thinking I really didn't want to mess with Nitro.  Well about 4 months later I realized I had made a big mistake and bought an N5C.  I find myself flying the N5C more during the week because I don't need to worry about the whole charging thing.  I can fly 3-4 times after work without breaking out the charger and do those flight within 30-40 minutes.  Hard to do with and E machine.  Also we have no power at my favorite field so not having to carry the generator is a plus.  On the weekends I fly my electrics a bit more since I have more time to spend at the field.  I still fly my N5C but fewer flights...  Something to think about.

Cheers
Alan

Jamie,

PM Branden Wheaten, He is a Team Synergy Member, He is the only one to ever convert a N5 to an electric. He was flying this setup when he joined the Team. He has the PDF files and all, If this is the only means of getting you into an Electric verses investing into a standard E series Synergy, Well then we got the fix!! PM him and he should be more than willing to help you...

Best Regards,

Kevin
