Servos
« on: August 18, 2014, 05:58:54 PM »
Anybody have servo spec recommendations for the N5cTT?  I looked through the manual but no spec suggestions are given. I am mostly concerned with the torque requirements for the cyclic servos.

166.6 oz-in  ?
0.08 sec/60° ?

Thanks in advance for input.

I ran Align DS610 cyclic servos on mine until just recently and it flew great. I just looked and their specs are exactly what you posted.

I wanted to switch to a high voltage setup and get rid of the voltage regulator and I'm running BK servos now.  They are so nice. Very smooth gear drive train.

Thanks Rodney. But what I am looking for is what the minimum torque recommendations would be for this helicopter. Those are the align specs as I have a complete set unused in the box here. At the level of flying I do, It really won't make much of a difference in "feel" for me for a while. But if I should go ahead and buy some expensive servos I will. Probably not HV's though. I may do the HV thing if I were to keep going and do another 90 or if my son were to want to start flying again as it wouldn't take him long to get back to throwing a helicopter around. Me, that's another story!  ;)

Like I said, I ran those Align servos for a bunch of flights and it flew great.  I know there are a at least a few other guys that I've seen post that they run them, too.

the 610s work great for cyclic. I use a 9650 on throttle and mks bls990 tail servo too.
