Hello Darren,
Welcome to the Synergy Family. I am sure Matt will take care of your canopy issue. Also if you have any other issues during your build please ask here and you will get support like no other. If I may suggest , you may want to sand your frame sides before you assemble the frame to protect your electronic wires from chaffing or tearing because of the elevated vibration that a nitro heli produces. Keep us posted and enjoy the build.

Welcome Darren.  That's a real bummer about the canopy.  I'm sure your build will go much better than your box opening!  If you have any questions at all you're definitely in the right place for getting some good answers.

Welcome to the Family Darren, hate that you had bad luck with the canopy, if you have been in this hobby long enough, this is just one of those things. Let me ask where you purchased it from? And what carrier did you receive it through... Unfortunately I have had issues with all 3 carriers. I would take a lot of pictures of the box as well as the canopy and file a claim if this was in deed shipped... Good luck with the build, and again welcome to the family..

Best regards,

Welcome to the Synergy family Darren.  Again sorry to hear about the canopy..

I am sure it has happened to all of us.  Even happens on an Amazon order occasionally.  I am sure you will be taken care of.

Cheers

Alan

Hi Guys thanx for the replies,I have a lot done so far, finished the frame and putting in my OS 55 engine, when tightening down the four engine mount screws the starter coupler is very stiff to turn, its dragging on something, the clutch bell is very smooth.

Congrats on your recent purchase.  I have no doubts you will get the canopy issue resolved.  Shame it happened, but it can happen at any time to any kit.

If the start shaft is dragging, you unfortunately have something out of alignment.  Loosen up the clutch stack bolts and move things around until you get both free movement of the bell and a smooth spin of the coupler.  I keep checking the smoothness of the coupler as I'm tightening things up.  Be sure to tighten each screw a little at a time instead of one screw all the way and then another screw all the way and so on. (Hope that makes sense.)

There are two metal spacers that are suppose to go in between the engine mount bracket and engine mount,I removed those so the engine sits back around 1mm,the coupler feels more smoother,Im not sure what the purpose of those to spacers are for

Just completed my N5c TT build and experienced the same alignment problem, the shims are intended for the OS 55 and should be in place. You need to slacken of the clutch bell housing bearing bolts as per Kinger post above and ensure there is sufficient tolerance in the slot to allow the bearing housing to travel forward and back with the screws backed out and then tighten as per Kinger post above. Pretty sure there is a topic related in the forum which helped me out with this issue.

It seems to be smoother with the spacers not being in,loosening the bolts up a bit on the bell housing might cause them to come loose in flight or cause vibration,Im using the OS 55 as well,my main gear has been damaged as well one of the teeth have been wedged in,also inspected the tail parts, the one side of the metal tail grip has been all chipped, its been so tightly packed and parts were compressed against each other, the plastic bags the parts came in look like a sieve, what a disaster >:(

Please checkout Matts "Engine and Clutch Stack Alignment" in the N5c Tips & Tricks section in this forum, this helped me with the same issues you seem to be having.

Sorry to hear of the gear damage, sounds like it's been through the wars in transit. I was lucky with my kit although there was a chip on the canopy which I have lived with but the N5c box could be sturdier with better packaging of components.

The problem is its been packed like this by the factory, the box and the cover are fine, not sure what to do as I paid a lot of money as it was bought in the UK,thinking of sending the whole kit back,I will look for the section you are talking about engine mounting,or what heading is it under
