So, here you are my set up
Kit E5
Gens ace 4400mAh 22.2V 35C 6S1P
Futaba BLS451 brushless 3x
Futaba BLS251 brushless
two-way step down voltage regulator
Fusuno Canopy
Rail 556
Rail 96
Scorpion 4025 1100kV
YGE 120LV
YGE prog card
MiniVbar
EC5 connectors male
EC5 connectors female
Next step is a new Futaba TX8 FG. I think that my current DX6i is not serious enough for such a bird.

Your the man, congrats on your purchase, you will love flying this heli on this set-up.

Looks like a great set up! Keep us updated on your build.

Congrats. Looks like you have it pretty much figured out.
What BEC are you looking at?
Cheers

Futaba BLS451 brushless
Futaba BLS251 brushless 3x
Hope that's a typo. ;)

I am going to use the internal BEC. Please tell me if you really find it is too weak.
YGE says
- switching BEC: 5.7V / 7.4V / 8.0V, 6A continuous, 12A peak.
- 2 BEC cabels (Master and Slave)
Do I need external one?

Futaba BLS451 brushless

Ehhh, yes. The order is correct!

Congrats! Great choice.

I missed the qty's Darren...
It appears you are planning on using the 251's on Cyclic? and the 451 on the tail?
Should be just the opposite...
The internal BEC should be fine with those servos. What Servo voltage are you going to run?
I would use a scorpion Backup Guard for insurance...
Cheers

I am going to set the voltage at 5.7 V which is the one for the BLS451 cyclic servos.
Between BLS251 tail servo and Minivubar I will place the step down regulator to 4.8 V.
I will look for the Scorpion guard. Thanks!
HS will be governed by the YGE gov store function. It is basically a close loop pid. The nice feature is that it records the max speed ( all blades on, full throttle and skids on the ground) the first time you configure it. Then you set flat curves with best resolution and headroom to govern HS. Does anybody of you guys have ever tried it?
-
Sounds like a plan.
I have heard of that on the YGE but haven't tried one.
Cheers

Looking to build an E5 this year. If anyone sees a good sale price on one for Black Friday let me know.

Most of the stores have the 15% off coupon that you can use. Please forgive me you guys, but i almost bought a goblin 500 today :( but the price was still just too high after checking on electronics and I wanted to spend more on my family for Christmas. So I bought extra for my mom and wife and just a revo bag and new canopy for the E5. Maybe I will get to save up for a new Synergy in 2014!!!

Blasphemy! No chicken legs allowed! We forgive you.

LOL. I still would like a 500 size heli. Maybe cyber monday will have the x4ii on sale. I don't want to buy a trex 500, but would like something a little smaller than the E5 but bigger than my Forza. Just can't pony up the cash for an E7 yet.

Picked up an E5 and blades today. Liking the sales. Just need a FBL controller?
Yes it's a sickness!
