N5C manual error or hardware in kit error?

(1/2) > >>

beans07:
Hi guys, I am building Synergy N5C FBL. I have struck an error. I am not sure if it is a manual error or hardware in the kit error.

In the N5C manual it says to glue the 2 x 78mm rod's for the tail push rod and links. I did this early on and now I don't have any 78mm rods for the swash to FBL head. All I have is 2 x 30mm rods left over.

I never checked these over before I glued them, I just did it as the manual said.

I notice in the N5 manual that it uses 2 x 30mm rods and not the 78mm rods.

So is the manual wrong? or is my hardware in my kit wrong?

Also which size on the Boto sizer? I am assuming the middle (600 size) and screw tightened in a little?

Brandon Bartolomucci:
I did the exact same thing with the 78mm rods. When I inquired, I was advised that I could have used the 30 mm rods for the tail push rod. Too late by then as I had also glued them in as I was following the manual. See if anyone on here has a couple extra laying around, they may be able to send them to you. If not, there were some for sale from Experience RC and it's around 5 bucks to get a replacement set. That was actually the only problem I had with the whole build.

As far as the sizer I'm sure someone else will be able to chime in with better info. I don't remember what I used exactly but I thought it was the biggest one. Regardless be careful, there seems to be a fine line between making them the right size and then over doing it. I would highly recommend you order an extra set of links and practice with a couple.

Hi Kevin thanks for the kind offer but I live in Australia. The time it takes and the cost it is not worth it.

I have orderedsome from our local importer. I think the manual should be updated or the kit parts. If you use your 78mm like directed to in the N5C manual you then wont be able to complete your build. I think it is a certain error as the N5 manual states the 30mm rods. Personally I would prefer to use 78mm rods for more glue to bind to.

sounds good and I recommend JB Weld, thats what I use and it works great, just allow it plenty of time to cure!! Good Luck! ;)
