Spur Gear 54T Tolerance!
« on: December 18, 2014, 11:52:50 AM »
I have had the Synergy E7 TT now for a few years, still going well so updated with a new head and its basilcally the SE version now, I changed the main gears last year.
I had to change the spur gear after I broke some teeth bench testing (dont ask!).
Received a new gear yesterday and it was impossible to mount on the hub, I measured just 0.2mm smaller inside diameter, i would have had to use unreasonable force to get it on which would probably crack the gear.

Anyway, wasn't defeated, I mounted the hub on an old main shaft with a jesus bolt and placed in a pillar drill.
At slow speed I switched on and used a file to gently shave off a little aluminium until it fitted perfectly, problem solved.

Another point, I got my new head from Experience RC, no blade grip arms, balls or screws came with it. Photo shows it, is that normal??

If you purchased the complete SE head assembly, hub, grips, spindle, bearings, etc you should have gotten pitch arms. The pitch arms are different on the SE head. Matt moved the pivot point closer to the rotor hub to improve geometry.

If you purchased the SE head parts separately then the pitch arms don't come with the grips.

Aha, yes I did purchase the complete head, photo on Experience RC shows they have them, have emailed them.
Thought the VBar numbers were a bit on the high side! I used my original arms so will get Experience RC to correct I hope.
Just converted to VBar control and have the UI sensor, TX now tells me how much battery I have left every 10%, brilliant.

Mesured my N7 arms, they are about 5mm less distance each side so quite a significant change.
Had a reply from ExperienceRC, they have no stock so cannot verify my claim, outrageous its on the b***dy photograph. So have to wait an eternity now to get what I paid for.

Yeah if it was the complete  assembly it should have them. Email matt@mattbotos.com  and include the part number  experience sold you. Maybe he can help get it resolved.
