Making The Switch

No.. Not Switch blades! Lol.. Love my Rails! I am making a change in electronics.. Switching from Spektrum to Futaba.  In reading all that I have on things Futaba.. Seems there is much to learn. My main 2 reasons for the change has nothing negative to do with Spektrum.. I've been in the RC for 3yrs now.. CP helis for about 2 1/2... Never an issue with my DX6i or my DX9.. Great radios.. But, having tried the 18SZ.. And the CGY750.. I want to give it a shot. So it's a slow process$$$$$$.. And this pushed my 766 build out that much further.. But.. I'm doin it. So I have ?s..
I'll start with the N5C. My current set up is Spektrum sats, Spektrum TM1000(telem module), & iKon(using iKon gov). With this set up getting my telem info is as follows.. I have a Futaba RPM magnet sensor on the clutch bell to feed my gov info to iKon... I have a second sensor, Spektrum backplate, to feed my telem data. Also, a temp & RX volt sensor. Sooo.. The new setup will be R7008SB RX & CGY750... So I'll now have the advent of SBus & SBus2! If I replace my regular Futaba magnet sensor for the on that has the telem thingie.. Will that provide my gov info to the CGY750 & telem data to my TX or will I need to do as before and use a both a backplate & a magnet on the bell to get both gov & telem data?
Another ? Is ports... With the temp sensor on the head of the motor needing the SBus2 port with the gov and any other sensor I want to add... How do I plug it all into the one SBus2 port?  The optional hub? Which one?
Any insight is much appreciated to help with this learning curve... Thanks in advance.

Never mind... I see it.

Ok... I did the E7SE first.. Today I maidened the E7SE with its new set up... Fantastic!
1) The KDE 535kv motor rocks! It's lighter than the 505kv I pulled out of her and still has just as much power & torque. Just strong as hell! Love KDE!
2) The Castle Link2 sent all telemetry data to the 18SZ as it should have.. No need for all those sensors.. The Castle does it all! Very happy with that!
3) Futaba... I've got it double here.. 18SZ TX & CGY750 FBL. Coming off Spektrum I can tell u it definitely has a more connected feel.. The response to stick input is much faster & more crisp. Now.. This was very scary at first.. I have been flying the Chase with this radio.. But this was the first flights on the big bird with it.. Taking a little to get used to as 4yrs of muscle memory on the Spektrum feel.... It's just taking time to get used to.. But definitely prefer the feel of the Futaba radio. Now onto the CGY750... OMG! Dude.. Its fabulous! I tuned it per instruction via Nick Maxwell's new video set up on V2... Took Levar's gain settings as a starting point.. And they were spot on! No drift.. No occultations.. No bounce back... No bobble.. Piros flat.. COMPLETELY LOCKED IN! The tail & gov issue I've had since I built her last summer are not present now... I've been fighting to get good tune for almost year.. Hard to believe it was the iKon... I can adjust all gains via the TX... No computer needed.. It AWESOME! I have had great luck with my iKon units on everything except the E7SE.. It just never felt good.. The CGY750 feels soooo good. I'll be pulling the iKon off the N5C this week... Just feel in love with Synergy all over again... The CGY750 is awesome!

That's great!  The biggest surprise for me when I switched from Spektrum to Futaba was that there was such a noticeable difference in response time.  At the time, I only changed radios and not FBL controllers and the difference in how more connected it felt really caught me by surprise.

cml001:
Absolutely! Shocking really.. I didn't fully understand when people described "connected" as a feeling between the TX & the bird until now.. Not saying anything bad about the Spektrum.. Never had an issue with Spektrum...but this just... Man it's great!
