Main blade bolts & jesus bolts changed?
« on: May 31, 2019, 09:28:08 AM »
Hi all,

I just ordered some replacement main blade bolts (100-430A) and lower main shaft bolt (100-325A) and it appears that they are slightly different to what was supplied in the original kit (purchased Sept 18).  The new ones have a longer un-threaded section of the shank, buy a couple of mm.

For both locations, this means that the nyloc nut bottoms out on the shank before being tight enough.

Thoughts?

Andy

Jesus bolts regardless of location would not necessarily need to be snugged down tight. Essentially like putting a pin in a bevel gear and shaft.
The only time a Jesus bolt would need to be tight would be if was be used as a pinch mechanism.
Are the bolts for the blade grip tightening enough to tension on the blades?
Cheers

Hi Alan,

For the head bolts, no they're not tightening down enough to provide any grip on the blades.  The un-threaded shank of the bolt is about 2 to 3mm too long, compared to the bolts supplied originally in the kit.

Thanks

Andy

Let me look tonight at my stock and see if that’s the case with what I have.

I assume the bolt adapters are in place? May seem obvious but you would be surprised.

;D Yes, bolt adaptors were in place.

I put the existing and new bolts side to side, and could see visually that the unthreaded shank was longer on the new bolts.  This applied to the lower mainshaft bolt and the main blade bolts.  I didn't check the top Jesus bolt yet tbh.

I'll try to get more details and images later on this evening, for the benefit of the thread.
