It seems that the 305-206 washout control arms have been discontinued. and the 305-208 Heavy Duty Washout Control Arms have taken their place.
1) What is the difference between these two washout control arm parts.
2) Is it safe to continue to use the discontinued 305-206 washout control arms, or should I upgrade to the newer heavy duty 305-208 washout control arms?

Those pics don't show the difference.
The original arms had a machined pocket for lightening but were easy to bend in a crash. The new arms are solid and should be stronger.

OK. So, if I understand you correctly, the older 305-206 washout arms should not fail during flight, but if I need to replace them after a crash, then purchase the heavy duty 308-208 arms. Is that accurate?

You got it!

Thank you!

Actually they do illustrate a big difference in the necking.

You're right, I hadn't noticed that. The pocket I mentioned is on the other side, seen here:

I've been able to wrap both versions around the main shaft but the new ones have definitely handled crashes better. :D

My E5 came with the new ones.
