Some are on the way to Experience RC www.experiencerc.com (http://www.experiencerc.com) and FBL Rotors http://www.fblrotors.com (http://www.fblrotors.com) :D

Crap. Looked at both their websites and nothing listed yet. I'll be watching them like a hawk.

Me too! Thanks Amy!

Amy,
Are these painted by Sick Canopy?
-
No they are not Sick Canopies :)
Amy
-
Well they are sick in the sense of bad ass. Still waiting for either vendor to put them up. Between this and the E5 I'm getting all antsy.

Brandon, give em a call. I called Ralph at FBL Rotors and let me tell ya. This guy is a class act. We must've talked for a half hour. He answered all of my questions and put a LE canopy aside for me once they arrive. I also told him that I was abit hesitant to put such a beautiful looking canopy on my bird with the problem of clearance on the fwd left mount where my Powerboost pipe almost hits. He is running the same pipe and was also concerned about the clearance. So he is getting a pipe spacer made up to give us a little more room. What an awesome guy. He has my business for sure. Anyways, like I said, give him a call and I'm sure he'll get you set up.

Good idea. I'll give him a call to tonight. Would be around 8 my time.

Hi,
Will any of these be making there way into the UK?

Damn Brandon, when are we going flying? We live awefully close to each other to wait for a fun fly!
-
Haha I know man. I've only been to CORF once since I joined because everyone else I fly with always flies at a spot here so I end up not heading up.

Here is the spacer I made for Rick. It will give him a little more clearance on the muffler side to take the canopy off.
The thicker version is on the left and the OEM from Funtech is on the right
Ralph

Nice Ralph! That should make it a bit easier with some of the mufflers.
I just started the factory on the same paint scheme for the E6/7. :)

Thanks
The paint is really nice and I look forward to the E7 one.

Love the canopy but wow its expensive. Still got one since my N5c is my favorite, but $130 seemed a tad steep to me.
-
So I got my other canopy in from Ralph and along with it the spacer that was posted above. I run the Funtech B320 pipe and with this spacer the stock pipe screws came out to the point of just being flush with the pipe on the out most side. As many know the Funtechs tend to strip and the bottom hole did. So I went and grabbed Dubro 3 x 50 (part # 2271) screws and some nylock nuts. This gave PLENTY of extra threading with some still in the pipe and beyond. I like the security of lock nuts anyway so this was very good. The spacer: absolutely awesome machining and looks great.
Thank you Ralph! As promised, pics of the spacer installed. Highly recommended. Puts enough space between the pipe & canopy that you won't damage the canopy from heat/ taking it off or putting it on but not so far out that it looks like a tumor on your heli.

You are welcome.
I am glad it work out for you.

@Brandon,
In the last picture you have the engine mounting shim in the wrong place, the shims should go between the mounting and the engine, on yours it is on the outside of the engine.
-
Hmm well I guess that would make more sense now that I think about it. Haha never did think about that before, just thought that was more of a protection type thing.
Thanks Flat Eric! Will fix that tomorrow.

Good catch Eric. The second hand N5 I owned a while back was missing those shims and as a result had an alignment issue. This was causing premature wear of the starter shaft.

Fixed those shims this morning. Hah wow I feel like an idiot for all this time having them like that. Thanks for the catch again!

Was this a one-off or can these still be purchased? I could stack 2 OEM spacers but this looks like a better option.
