Title: night blades
Post by: Mike Spano on August 22, 2014, 03:22:04 PM
so I am building a night rig. I need some good 600 size mains, and 95mm or so tails. I have no experience with night blades, so I am looking for what you guys have been running please...

I am not willing to learn to night fly with my awesome synergy helis, so I am building a night bird out of a trex600n that I have laying around. no emotional attachment to this bird, nor any cash invested, other than the night things I will be adding....so no worries about it like I would my synergy birds.

so please share with me what you guys are flying for night blades. I don't need the ones that are programmable with pictures and things....lol

I made a set of 606 and 700. It was very simple to do. There is a lot of how to forms around. I can send you some better pictures of the blades.

Thanks guys! I had planned on making my own after really looking into this, but I may take you up on the kits you have for sale.....

When I searched for night blade kits on google, I couldn't find a single one. I am glad to see they still sell them.

I'm running Edge Night Litez on my E7se and I'm very happy with them.  Not as quiet as Rails, but...

but can you still buy them? i couldn't find any for sale...

i think i have a light kit lined up for my rail blades though now.....

for my second hurdle.....i know night tail blades are not "REQUIRED", but i really really want them. they look cool. i cannot find any of them for sale anymore either....so i guess i am going to have to make some. i have watched a few videos about how to do it, i think i can handle it. but if anyone knows of a place they are still for sale, please let me know.

i hear the KDBB ones are really not all they are cracked up to be....

Yea I have the Edge 105mm night tail blades as well.  Highly recommended!  They are great for orientation.

Not sure where you can buy them anymore.  I got all mine on the RR classifieds recently.

ok, cool. thanks.

if you would like to sell a set, please let me know!  ;)

I am confident I can make my own, but man that would make life much easier.....

why did everyone stop making and selling them?

I think the Edge blades are hard to find because Readyheli went out of business.

Radix also make night blades that are very similar and use the same batteries.  Experience RC has 605mm and 690mm in stock.

Mike,

I have a set of 105mm RotorTech night blades that I could sell you if you don't have any luck finding what you're looking for.  I destroyed my Night Magic blades so, for now, I don't really need the tail blades.  They're in perfect shape.  Just shoot me a PM if you want them.

Guess I should have read the first post where you said you were doing a 600, doh!

hahahah

well, i do run 106's on my E5S, just bc i can fit them, and i like the extra tail authority. but i cant fit them on the old Trex600N i am turning into a night bird. (that i am aware of). if i really get "bite by the night flying bug" though, i may decide to keep my second E7 and turn it into a night bird...who knows....

i bought all the tail blades they had at grand RC (96mm). so maybe that will last me. if i nee more, i will more than likely make my own.

but still, thank you again for the offer.

Hey Branden,
Can you send me more pictures of your night setup? Also youtube vids of how to make them?

Thanks,
Rick

those are nice and all, but just not rails....rail blades fly so much smoother and more locked in than any other brand i have ever flown.....

just an FYI. Night Magic blades are again available and the price is more insane than ever ::)
I had a crashed set and contacted them for replacement at a discount, the discount is 20%. still putting the cost over $425..........
