Title: hi from florida
Post by: anthony on August 22, 2015, 09:20:15 PM
hello all,my name is Anthony hearne I am 52 and have 4 children 1 boy and 3 girls , my eldest(25) is autistic which has its own challenges then comes my son (23) and then 2 more daughters(20 and 14)money is a bit tight but I just bought a used e5 from a member on this forum , I've been flying as long as I can remember, planks mostly in the uk , I was introduced to heli's by dave willshire who imported min air into the uk but couldn't afford one of those so bought a hirobo shuttle from my lhs. I learned to hover this and got to the point of nose in hovering with that machine , I then graduated to a kyosho concept 30 . that's was when I decided to emigrate to florida, gave up all rc activity for around 8 years while my children were young and have only just recently got back into heli's full time , I did buy a plank but now find them quite uninteresting , first heli back was an axe 450 which quickly became a trex 450 sport which morphed into a furion 450, I have dabbled with larger helis, but could never get over the fear of crashing and possibly hurting someone , I know the smaller ones can hurt too but I feel more confident with them, my current fleet is a gaui x2, a warp 360 and a gaui x4ii, I just sold a goblin 630 because I feel it is just too big and heavy for me . and now an e5 , I did trawl some forums and have heard very positive things about this heli . I am really looking forward to getting it in the air and I am sure I will have some questions for you . I particularly like the fact that it can be stretched very easily if I ever feel confident enough to try a bigger heli again . thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings
Anthony

The E5 is an awesome heli.  I owned two air frames at one point.  I set up the first one as an E5s spinning 606/96 blades on 12S using two 6S 3,300mah packs.  I left the 2nd E5 stock spinning 556/96 blades on a single 6S 4,400 pack.  The E5s setup had more power and auto-rotated better.  The stock E5 setup shines in simplicity using just a single 6S pack.  Can't go wrong with either setup.

This pick shows the relative length of the E5 (bottom) and E5s (middle).

Welcome to the family Anthony!  The E5 is such a great heli in so many ways. I'm currently flying mine as a super stretch with Rail 696 mains and I love it!
