Ok so there's some threads on the primary forums about the E5 and people are getting kind of pumped about it. I wondered if it might not be a bad a idea to start a thread here. I mean this is Synergy after all. I'm sure most of us want one and are probably getting one so let's talk about it.
Whether you are posting your planned set up, new information about it, just general excitement whatever it is; If it's about the E5 and it's something to get the blood pumping for this heli, let it fly. Get it STARTED!
I'll be running a set up pretty much like Matt had on the demo with a few changes:
Rail 556 main/96 tails
AR7200BX
BLS255HV cyclic/BLS256HV tail
ThunderPower 65c 4400 pack to start
Scorpion HKIII-4025-1100kV motor
Castle HV120/BEC Pro
DX18
Motor will be here tomorrow and then I'll have everything except the kit, ESC, and battery.
Regards,
Brandon Bartolomucci

Hope that would be the 1100kv scorpion. Unless you are going for the low headspeed record :-)
I think I will be ordering the KDE equivalent at 1175kv.
Cheers

Well after looking at Amy's post on Facebook regarding motor options I may go ahead and use a 4025-550 that I have. Also have a 435-560 I could use. All running 12s on a stretched e5. Decisions decisions.

My setup:
Kontronik Pyro 1100kV (if shaft dimensions work)
Kontronik Jive 100+ LV or 120+ HV

JR 8917 servos w/ BLS 256 tail
Opti-Power 4300mAh 6S packs (you need to try these!)

Just got the email from Ralph. Pricing is up on his website. Not bad at all, especially for the max combo there. Hope it won't be too long now!

Hmm. Been quiet around here lately. Everyone must be getting those last flights of the season in and preparing for the new E5....

Lots of late season events. There is something every weekend here in Ohio alone :)
and yes, I am not-so-patiently awaiting a release date on the E5 :o

Gonna be long winter waiting to maiden the E5. At least that'll give me time to decide and order batteries for it.

Winter? What's wrong with flying in the snow 8)

You can fly in the snow all you want. I hate winter and the cold.

Winter, where do you live? We, here in Montreal, Quebec, Canada fly 12 months out of the year, snow or no snow. Winter is a great time to fly because the air is denser and the helis float more, also colder therefore motor, esc, batteries and the like don't heat up as fast or as much. You should try it out, if you want come to Montreal and I will invite you to our club to have fun winter outdoor flying.

I do more flying in the winter than the summer. I hate this 90+ degree days.

I like the cooler days too more than the hot.

I still have some time to figure out which servos I will run.
