Tail Control Rod Assembly

Should the Teflon be shrunk on the Tail Control Rod? Not sure what to do with it...

Yes, just make sure you determine the correct position before you shrink it.  Also heat it from the middle out to prevent air bubbles from becoming traped.

Also. Let it thoroughly cool and harden before pushing the rod through the supports. When soft it is easy to damage the edge of the Teflon and hinder its performance.

I cut each piece in two, as they are long enough to do just that, then you'll have spares, just in case of a mishap , lol.

Yep, there is about 0.125 inch left at each extreme tail travel if you cut exact same length.

What would happen if you did not use the Teflon? Seems like you would want it to glide not be tighter

The teflon tubing reduces resistance (friction) and allows the tail push rod to operate more smoothly.  The tape also prevents wear to the push rod and the guides.
