How to sharpen a boot sizer?
« on: May 17, 2016, 07:49:02 AM »
When I got this tool (5 synergy kits ago) it was too sharp. With out the screw you could  destroy a link in a couple of turns. Now with the  screw all the way tight  I can't size the link at all.
I've tryed sand paper.   I just thought I would run this by you guys before I ask Matt for a new bit.

Has anyone  sharpened one of these before ?

I think it just wears down and I am not aware of a way to sharpen this tool . I just ordered a new one myself.

I should add that the sand paper did sharpen it a little.

I also want to add that my boto tool has seen a lot of action I just built an n5c which has about 35 ball links and most of them I did twice..  The boto sizer is awsome and I'll buy one again at the drop of a hat if I can't get this one to cut again or replace the bit.   I have no complaint about the longevity of this tool.

I too have just about worn out my large balls.

Last night I chucked it in my drill and spun it hard enough that I think the hole opened up just from the friction of it all.

About time to order new balls.

Hows that for phrasing?
