What do you guys think of this E7SE set up.
« on: October 31, 2013, 06:13:17 AM »
Hi Guys, I'm the process of building my dream machine.
Here's a list of what I want to use in my E7SE build.

Scorpion Ultimate 4525 520kv
Castle Edge 160
Futaba CGY750
Futaba BLS 175 SV HV Cyclics
Futaba BLS 274 SV HV Tail
Thunder Power 1900mah 7.4v 20C 2S Rx Pack
Running on Pulse 5000mah 65C 12S Packs

What do you think, I'd like to know what changes you would make to this setup and why.

Cheers :)

That sounds exactly like a dream machine. I have the same servos and gyro and controller. Is the bls174 the 760uf tail servo?  If so that will be perfect! With this setup I can get 5 full flights out of a 1300mah rx pack.  The bls175's are really really nice and if you don't actually have them yet check out the price at heliproz. ;)  In answer to your question, sounds like it will work flawlessly. Might I say that the Rail 696 and 716's that I bought came about as perfectly balanced out of the box as I have ever seen  I also get about 5 min on 4000mah hour glacier packs with a 1950hs.  I can get 6:20 at the same head spead with 4400 mah 12s.

Thanks for your input ChapaWolf.
The BLS 274 is 1520usec I would need the BLS 276 to get 760usec
Does it make a big difference going from 1520 to 760. Is it worth the extra dollars.

I am new to your forum, can you tell me if the verification code is required for every post.
I find it hard to see and often need to try a few times to get my post to work  :-\

There are always arguments on whether the 760 is better than 1520. I have had great success with both. Some FBL units work better with 760 I have been told.

Your setup looks great man! You might try a set of 4400mAh flight packs. The E7se likes a light battery. I find I can get just as long of flight out of my 4400s as I can my 5000s because of the weight savings.

That goes away after, I think, your 10th post.  It may be the 15th or 20th, though, I can't remember for sure.

In the CGY750 manual it say that a 760 servo is optimal thats the only reason I posted that.

Oh also I have no Idea if its worth the money or if its better like I said the manual says 760 but will work with 1520.  The bls256 is a 760, those new sbus servos I heard are great but like somebody said recently they are proud of them.  I do believe the bls276 is 0.005 sec faster to 60. The bls276 is going to replace the 256 in the futaba line up.

A lot of people are running the 256 including myself it works great for me, but please remember this is my opinion a should be handled as such.

I ran the DS650 Align servo on tail with the cgy750 and it was a nightmare....put the BLS256 on it, didnt change settings and it was a dream!  760pu with the CGY750 is the way to go IMO.

Yes Kevin I did the same thing a while back when I was waiting for the 256 that I ordered.  The DS650 worked okay for the couple of days, but as soon as I attached the 256 I immediately saw a difference. It was a large difference too, and i was no longer questioning spending 170 dollars on one servo! In fact I have never purchased any futaba product and thought what the Heck was I doing.

What kind of issues did you guys see with the DS650?  I've running a DS655 on my N5C since day one.

Ditto,

I have an Align 650 on the tail and BLS451's on the cyclic of my N5c with V-Bar control for over 150 flights. No issues here. But I guess it may be an issue with the CGY750.

Guess I should have mentioned that I'm running the DS655 with a CGY-750.

Let me clarify. I did not have any issues with the DS650, but when switching to the 760 the tail was much more smooth. It stopped better it was more precise and it held much better at lower gain settings. Like I said the cgy manual reccomends the tail servo be 760 for optimum performance. I did not have a problem with the 1520 the 760 just worked better.

Please understand there were no problems with the 1520 setup, the 760 worked much better for me.

Thanks again for all the input guys  ;)
I put my order in for servos today but I can't get the Futaba servos.
No stock  :(
I can get some MKS x8 Cyclics and a tail for around the same price.
The specs look good, even better than the Futaba's in some areas.
I might give these MKS servos a go. Anyone else using them, if so, what do you think of them.

You'll just need to shim the MKS servos or the bottoms of the servo cases will interfere with each other.
