chipped tooth on 54T spur gear

I just received my TT kit and found a little chipped tooth on the 54T spur gear. Is it ok to fly?

I know the chip does not make you happy. You can use a knife or file to clean it up and it should be OK.

You should of seen the main gear that came in my kit, it look like it was thrown across a warehouse a few times. After cleaning it up it's been fine, just does not look good.

Bummer. I would contact Ralph at FBL Rotors and get a new gear. You could fly it though.

Sorry to see that.... it's most likely shipping damage.
It will likely be fine to fly but if you do not feel comfortable flying it let me know and I will send you a new gear.

Thanks,

Matt
